Make Your Passion Be Your Profession

I really love learning or experiencing new things about my dream profession which is actually my passion and obsession. I enjoy the moment of gaining  information about Film writing since it is my ambition to be a good writer someday. So I attended seminars last March 4 2013. And that Level 6 Explode Seminar is one of the best seminars I’ve attended. The three speakers were great enough to be able to share useful information coming from their experience. And I personally salute them because they are really amazing and professionals in their chosen endeavor which is media industry. They were been so honest to us in delivering their talks I mean it is not so formal in some way but it captures more may attention and I know in myself that I’m not just their for additional grade but for another valuable learning that is 100% related to my future career. And I can said that I am blessed to be able to absorb ideas and tips from this well-known people.

               “Speed is important but accuracy is more important”

            I wasn’t able to start the seminar due to our thesis subjects. And when we arrive the discussion are almost half way. He tackled about the advantages and disadvantages of social media in delivering news.

            According to him the advantages of using social network as a tool in disseminating news are the following:

·        It is fast and very timely

·        Very Interactive

·        Anyone can access through it.

·        Can make awareness rapid and effective

·        Cheap

·        You can always go back and re-read the news since it is recoded and document were posted.

Disadvantages are

·        Due to speed capacity news were not double check

·        Some information release are hoax

·        Privacy were lessen and damage close enough to cybercrime law.

·        Some users use it irresponsibly in spreading information that has not been confirmed.

He is a good speaker although his discussion were somehow basic but the interaction and sharing of his experience make his talked more interesting aside from his charm and kilig factor that affect the crowd

            Sincerely I am so overwhelmed by the professionalism he projects. He is not a just good speaker but the best speaker ever. He is so realistic and so honest with all the words he said. I thought at first it will going to be boring because his to old enough but no its not. You can really see that he know what his talking. I’ve learned a lot from him.  And he inspired and challenges me in a positive way that I can view my future career not in idealistic perception of earning money but in a real one. This is the things I learned from him and this tips or lessons actually affect my being.

• Making Film is exaggerating fact in order to emphasize truth.
• Out of 96 million people only 4 million watch Filipino movie and most watch movie are Daniel Padilla and Vice Ganda film
•  In creating film you must touch national consciousness
•  Life in Media are difficult, hard and painful

TEN SIGN POST TIPS

1. Have something to say. – Say something that can transform human condition. Say something that has never been heard. Say something unique. Say something that you like and interest with. Never be afraid to say something you love.
2. Movies are shared experience. – Movies are presented in big screen because it needs a community experiences. Different people sharing and absorbing affection and message regarding the movie a the same period of time.
3. Movies are not meant to teach but to transform. – Audience must learn all the possibility. Never make spoon feed lesson. Let your movie be the message. Like Shakespeare said “go and tell the story”. Art is not a tool for change or agenda.
4. Entertainment is not a sin, not to sale. – Origins of movie was to entertain so don’t be afraid to put sense of humour in it.
5. Don’t only sticks to what works. Think and never stop in your box.
6. Experiment is boring. –Experiment must be scientifically made. You discover things you don’t know. And it best to do it yourself like in masturbation it best to experience it than watch it.
7. Do things with Science. -Always make a plan. Consider everyone needs and creative thinking. Don’t just settle with your own, you make movies for your audience not for yourself.
8. Be professional. -Don’t be late. Concentrate with your works. Be here as an artist. Enjoy the savour of the process. Make moment and memories with your teams or workmate. “ Things won are done the soul of the joy lies in the doing and the sweetness of the man is in the doing”-Shakespear
9. Be honest. -Let movie be you. Be clear about your goal and don’t just play bullshit just to look astig.
10. Make your world bigger, -Make your preparation more exciting. Meet new people, Learn different language. Listen to a new type of music. Grow and never stop reading. Travel outside your comfort zone. In taste the beliefs and language of life. “Tenirmundo” “Have your world” “Become your world” “Encompass the world”. When you become the world you will something to say that is worth listening.

            He is a man with inspiring experiences and based on his story he just prove to us that our future was hard If we will not love and have passions in this. He has this element in making us see what lies ahead in us. He also shared to us some facts and examples that adds information for us to have clearer view about the topic. He discussed about mainstreams and indie film.

Mainstreams Movies:

•  Can afford extreme promotion
•  Control by big company
• Has saturated distribution
•  Higher production value
• Have expensive technology
• Simplistic and predictable stories
•   Stick to same genre (RomCom)

Indie films

• Limited promotions
•  Realistic escapist narrative
•  Audience are not spoon feed
• Explore difficult themes
• Exploits miserable conditions to get sympathy
• They do film to get awards and not for audience

Mainstream 50 millions

Indie Film 1-2 million

Spending Money Where it Counts Most:

1. Things you can see in the screen
2. Pay everyone who worked for you right
3. Make sure you have delicious food for everybody
4. Analysed things before you shoot
5. Do homework, Plan everything ahead
6. Avoid long meeting. Meeting should last for 30 minutes so organized your thoughts before setting a meeting
7. Give the production more value
8. Hope for a miracle.
